All candidates; factual fields must be checked against each model label.
Check the exact device
Menu names and behavior can vary by US hardware revision and firmware. This guide was researched from official material, not tested on a physical router.
Applies to: All candidates; factual fields must be checked against each model label.
Checked: 2026-11-01 · Risk: low · Status: source-grounded editorial draft; not hands-on tested.
Before you begin
Use only equipment you own or administer. Keep label photographs, passwords and network diagrams private. This is an editorial intake checklist, not a universal manufacturer menu.
Procedure
- Record the brand, full model, hardware version and country label. Keep the retail kit number separate from each unit’s label.
- Record current firmware from the official app or local management interface. Do not infer it from a downloaded filename.
- Mark which device routes traffic, which connects to the ISP, and which units are APs or satellites.
- Record current working services and obtain a vendor-supported backup where available. Preserve the old cabling and settings before changes.
- Find the exact official support page. A known example is AXE75: the V1 and default-page port descriptions must not be merged.
Verify the result
A different administrator should be able to identify every physical box without guessing from “AX3000” or an app nickname.
Undo or recover
This inventory changes no device settings. Delete or redact sensitive working notes before sharing an issue report.
Stop and escalate
When a label or revision cannot be identified, show unknown in RouterFix and defer firmware/reset instructions.
The steps above combine paraphrased official instructions with an original safety and test workflow. They are not a verbatim manual, a guaranteed fix, or evidence of a common hardware defect.
