Check the exact device

Menu names and behavior can vary by US hardware revision and firmware. This guide was researched from official material, not tested on a physical router.

Applies to: Alta Labs Route10 wired router; LAN/WAN and PoE on exact ports.

Official evidence: Alta Labs Route10.

Before you begin

  • Read physical port labels, planned 10G transceiver specifications and total powered-client wattage.
  • Maintain a known wired admin path before changing any WAN/VLAN settings.

Physical layout

ISP ONT -> Route10 (assign WAN) -> LAN RJ45/SFP+ -> switch / APs
                                    |-> PoE+ output ports 2 + 3 (40W shared)

What to check / do

  1. Route10 provides four 2.5GbE RJ45 interfaces and two 10Gbps SFP+ cages, not six RJ45 ports.
  2. Designate intended WAN/LAN interfaces through supported Alta controls, and confirm upstream ISP handoff.
  3. PoE+ is available only on ports 2 and 3 and shares a maximum 40W budget. A nominal 30W-per-port claim is not 60W combined.
  4. Connect each powered access point only after checking individual maximum consumption and the 40W shared limit.
  5. Interpret port LEDs separately: 1GbE versus 2.5GbE RJ45 indicators, plus SFP+ 10G indicators; check official LED reference.

Verify the result

  • All powered clients remain stable and total output is within 40W.
  • Negotiated Ethernet rate and WAN/LAN network behavior match actual port configuration.

If the result is not what you expected

  • Stop changing settings if you cannot identify the model or a reliable administrator recovery path.
  • Use the exact manufacturer support link below and quote your hardware label, firmware version, and what changed.

Restore / undo

Unplug the newest powered AP if budget is exceeded and restore original WAN/LAN port roles from a wired connection.

Evidence, limits and editorial disclosure

Technical claims are based on the linked manufacturer or ISP page as checked on 2026-11-01. This is an independent explanatory checklist, not a claim that RouterFix tested the device. Hardware revision, regional SKU and firmware menus may differ. Unverified functions must remain unknown.
