Check the exact device

Menu names and behavior can vary by US hardware revision and firmware. This guide was researched from official material, not tested on a physical router.

Applies to: UniFi U7 Pro Outdoor U.S. SKU with weatherproof cable gland requirements.

Official evidence: UniFi U7 Pro Outdoor US official technical specifications.

Before you begin

  • Confirm the exact U.S. product SKU and intended mounting location.
  • Use outdoor-rated cable protection and follow local electrical/building codes; do not mount near overhead power wiring.

Important: Improper outdoor wiring, lightning exposure and water ingress can be hazardous. Do not recommend live electrical repairs.

What to check / do

  1. Compare the vendor IPX6 versus IP67 claims with the specific cable gland installation conditions.
  2. Verify appropriate PoE+ switch/injector before the outdoor run. Do not assume a wet or damaged RJ45 connection is protected just because the enclosure is weather-rated.
  3. Test adoption and negotiated Ethernet speed indoors with the final injector before permanent mounting.
  4. Fit the recommended seals/cable glands and route the cable with drip loop and surge/environmental precautions according to vendor and local practice.

Verify the result

  • AP powers and remains reachable under normal conditions.
  • Connector seals are seated, cable strain relieved, and water cannot run into the connection.

If the result is not what you expected

  • Stop changing settings if you cannot identify the model or a reliable administrator recovery path.
  • Use the exact manufacturer support link below and quote your hardware label, firmware version, and what changed.

Restore / undo

Disconnect power at the source and return the AP to a dry test bench if water ingress or damaged cable insulation is suspected. Refer outdoor electrical work to a professional.
