Check the exact device

Menu names and behavior can vary by US hardware revision and firmware. This guide was researched from official material, not tested on a physical router.

Applies to: LN1100 v2, LN1400, MX6200 and MBE7000 parent Pair method; supported child models only.

Checked: 2026-11-01 · Risk: caution · Status: source-grounded editorial draft; not hands-on tested.

Before you begin

The parent must already be online. Confirm current supported firmware and that the child is unconfigured. Do not erase a working node merely because it is not blue.

Procedure

  1. Check the support list and parent-role rule. In a mixed supported network containing MBE7000 or LN1400, the article designates one of those as parent.
  2. Place the child near the parent for onboarding; the article specifies within 10 feet.
  3. Wait for the child’s ready state. Press the supported parent’s Pair button for at least one second.
  4. For MBE7000/MX6200, the Pair control is the unlabeled gray button; do not substitute Reset.
  5. Wait through pairing until the child is online, then relocate and retest it.

Verify the result

The child is shown online and provides connectivity after relocation. Match the exact model’s LED chart.

Undo or recover

Return the child to its previous location or remove the added unit; preserve the working parent configuration.

Stop and escalate

Older firmware and LN1100 v1 do not share the same Pair-button method. Follow their documented alternative.

Evidence and interpretation limits

This is not a blanket all-to-all Intelligent/Cognitive/Plug-N-Play compatibility claim.

The steps above combine paraphrased official instructions with an original safety and test workflow. They are not a verbatim manual, a guaranteed fix, or evidence of a common hardware defect.
