Check the exact device

Menu names and behavior can vary by US hardware revision and firmware. This guide was researched from official material, not tested on a physical router.

Applies to: The current US product pages; read exact hardware labels before installation.

Two distinct products

X50-Outdoor lists an IP65 enclosure and either 802.3at PoE or 100–240-V AC power. X50-PoE lists 802.3at or 12-V DC. They share a family name, not an interchangeable power-input design.

Before mounting

  1. Match the product and power label, then choose an approved input method. Do not adapt an indoor Deco DC supply to the outdoor unit.
  2. Verify both the PoE standard and the supplying switch/injector's available budget when using Ethernet power.
  3. Follow the exact model's mounting, cable-entry and weather-sealing instructions. A weather-resistant AP does not make an ordinary outlet, injector or loose connector weather-safe.
  4. Confirm Ethernet topology and operation in an accessible location before permanent mounting. The current X50-PoE port inventory must not be transferred to an older revision by name alone.

Verify / undo

Check power stability and backhaul status before moving devices outside. If installation requires new mains wiring, grounding or work at height, use a qualified installer. Disconnect power safely and restore the original approved arrangement if inspection finds water entry or mismatched equipment; do not open an energized enclosure.

Official evidence

Editorial boundary: No hands-on testing was performed. Confirm the device label, current firmware and live official instructions before making changes. Never send passwords, VPN keys or complete configuration backups to RouterFix.
